Spring 2010 will "kick-start" the housing market

Next spring will provide a "real kick-start" to the housing market
because much of the "pent-up demand" will be inspired to move,
according to one property expert.
Jane Marr, company director at online direct advertising service
the Little House Company, said that unemployment figures that lag
behind other economic indicators are worrying and likely to
influence those currently considering buying or selling a home in
the UK.
Her comments follow the publication of new figures from Hometrak,
which revealed that the average house price has increased for the
first time in more than two years.
"There is now pent-up demand for people who want to move and we
feel that spring 2010 will see buyers more inspired to make that
move and [provide] a real kick-start to the UK housing market,"
said Ms Marr.
The news comes after the Land Registry House Price Index found that
property prices in July increased by 1.7 per cent to
£155,885.
