Landlords return to buy to let market

Landlords have started to return to the buy
to let market, it has been reported.
The Association of Residential Letting
Agents (Arla) has announced that the number of people who have
decided to let their properties rather than sell has
increased.
It reported that 34 per cent of Arla's member offices saw a rise in
the number of buy
to let properties coming onto the market in the third quarter
of 2010.
Figures from the second quarter revealed that 19 per cent of member
offices reported a rise in the number of rental properties.
Operations manager at Arla Ian Potter advised people considering
letting out their properties to be aware of all the information
first.
He stated: "A qualified, licensed agent can help guide both
landlord and tenant through the process, to ensure neither party is
left out of pocket."
New landlords are likely to be pleased to hear that there has been
a growth in tenant demand, with 14.2 per cent of households being
privately rented in 2008-09, compared with 10.2 per cent in 2003,
according to the Department for Communities and Local Government's
English housing Survey Household Report 2008-09.
