Land Registry figures reveal average house price

Estate agents with property for sale in Fareham may find that the average
house goes for around £158,377, according to new
figures.
The latest statistics from the Land Registry's flagship House Price
Index show this to be the average cost of a property in England and
Wales – which represents a monthly change of 0.9 per
cent.
In the capital, the monthly price rise was 1.3 per cent, which
amounted to an average property price of £314,954.
This data also shows that the number of people buying and selling
appears to be on the increase. In January, there were 26,662 house
sales, which rose to 57,628 in July.
Although all areas of the UK have experienced a decline in property
values over the past 12 months, the Land Registry's figures show
that Neath Port Talbot had the greatest fall of 18.7 per
cent.
The organisation works to maintain a stable and effective land
registration system in the UK, as well as allowing confident
property dealings.
